What Age groups can play? Fulton United Soccer is for children in grades Pre-k through 8th Grade in the Spring and Grades Pre-k through 6th grade in the Fall.

Does my child need cleats? Cleats are recommended for players in Division 2 through Senior Division. We DO NOT allow the players in Division 1 to wear cleats.

Does my child need shin guards? YES! All players must wear shin guards. This is a safety requirement for both the league and for our insurance company.

When are the games? Games are played on Saturdays at Darling Field. We have three time slots for games: 9am, 10:15am, and 11:30 am.

Where are the games played? Games are played at Darling Field in Gloversville. 198 Kingsoro Avenue

When are practices? Coaches will set their own practices schedules. Practices are typically held once to twice a week. For the Pre-K and Division 1 players practice is usually between 30 and 45 minutes. For the older players practice is about an hour or so, sometimes longer, depending on the coach.

Where are practices? Many coaches choose to practice at Darling Field but due to the number of teams we have each season and the various locations players come from we allow coaches to practice in their home districts. The league carries the various school districts on our insurance, the coaches have to request the use of the fields from the schools, and then are often able to practice at their local school.

Can I request a team? We do not accept team requests, nor do we accept coach requests.

Will my child be able to practice at his school instead of Darling Field? That is up to the coach and the school. If the coach chooses to practice at the local school instead of Darlig Field, the coach will need to get permission from the school to do so. Fulton United Practice CAN NOT interfere with school athletics.

How do you decide what team to put the kids on? We try to keep kids together by school district. As long as we have enough players and a coach from a particular district for a particular division we will put those kids together with that coach. If we do not have enough players or a coach from a district we will group the kids with kids from the next closest school district. For example if we have 15 kids from Northville for division 3 and a coach from Northville we will put them all together, if we only have 7 kids from Northville for division 3 we will put them with kids from Mayfield, if we don't have enough from Mayfield and Northville together then we will put them with kids from Gloversville.

We strive very hard to keep kids from the various districts together. We also have to maintain balance, so we can't have 20 kids on one team and 11 on another. Ideally, we would have a couple full squads from each district, sometimes that happens and sometimes it doesn't. We've had years with a team and a half from Mayfield and a team and a half from Northville and created 3 teams from those registrations. We've also had 3 plus teams from Gloversville and 2 plus from Johnstown and ended up with 6 teams with 1 being a Gloversville, Johnstown hybrid team. That is just an example of registrations within a single division in a single season. Each year is different and brings different challenges. We do our best.
